Job summary

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The Department of Biology in the Eberly College of Science is seeking Biology Course Accessibility Assistant to support faculty in improving the accessibility of course materials and learning resources.

Biology Course Accessibility Assistant will review and edit PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, Canvas pages, videos, and other instructional materials to ensure they are accessible to all learners.

Responsibilities include adding and evaluating descriptions of scientific images, improving headings, titles, reading order, tables, color contrast, and captions, and addressing issues identified by accessibility-checking tools.

Successful applicants will have prior experience as a Biology Teaching Assistant or Learning Assistant and sufficient biology coursework to evaluate course content for scientific accuracy while making accessibility improvements.

These positions are open to full-time registered Penn State students. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed as departmental needs arise.
