Job summary

Kean University invites adjunct faculty for Biological Sciences to teach undergraduate courses across Union, Jersey City, Kean Ocean and other campuses. Courses may include in‑person formats with possible online components. Positions are non‑tenure track and require a master’s degree and teaching experience; ABD/Ph.D.

candidates are encouraged to apply. Adjuncts are paid per credit under the collective bargaining agreement: $2,100 per credit (September 2025) rising to $2,225 per credit

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related field and teaching experience required unless otherwise indicated.
• Proficiency in a Learning Management System (LMS) per university guidelines.
• Official transcripts are required before appointment.

Responsibilities

• Teach Biological Sciences courses at undergraduate level across Union, Jersey City, and Kean Ocean campuses.
• Provide at least one hour of availability outside class per week per semester; more as needed.
• Adhere to adjunct pay scales and participate in university policies and processes.
