OneBlood in Petersburg, VA is seeking a manufacturing and distribution technician to manage whole blood and blood components in accordance with SOPs. The role operates 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Saturday through Wednesday, with flexibility.

Training occurs Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM for 3–4 weeks. Based on hours, positions may include a shift and weekend differential of $1.50 - $4.50 per hour, with focus on labeling, storage, and quality checks.

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior laboratory, bloodbank manufacturing or logistics experience preferred.
• Ability to organize work for timely completion.
• Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office.

• Performs data entry associated with component production, labeling, storage and shipping ensuring accurate and complete manufacturing records
• Operates, maintains and performs quality control checks on equipment

• Performs the quarantine and disposition of unacceptable products and/or samples
• Ensures adequate inventory of required supplies
• Prepares and submits quality control samples for testing.

Overview

Performs tasks related to the manufacturing and distribution (as needed) duties for the management of whole blood and blood components, in compliance with OneBlood standard operating procedures.

Position Schedule: This is a full-time position that will work 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Saturday to Wednesday. Flexibility is required.

Training Schedule: Candidate must be available to attend training Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm for a period of 3-4 weeks.

(Based upon when hours are worked positions may include a shift and weekend differential of $1.50 - $4.50 per hour.)

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or equivalent. Prior laboratory, bloodbank manufacturing or logistics experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Tasks involve the periodic performance of moderately physically demanding work, usually involving lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds). Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Performance of this job could expose the employee to blood-borne pathogens and freezers at below-freezing temperatures (-30F/-35C). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
