StatCare is seeking a Biologics Assistant in Knoxville to support centralized administrative operations for the Biologics department. You will manage calls, patient inquiries, and maintain accurate medical records in the EMR.

The Biologics Assistant support s centralized administrative operations for the Biologics department . This position is responsible for managing incoming calls, assisting with patient and provider inquiries, and maintaining accurate and secure medical records. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience with electronic medical records, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.

Examples of Duties : (List does not include all duties assigned)
  • Answer and route incoming calls, messages, and patient inquiries related to biologic medications.
  • Assist with outbound patient calls regarding appointments, medication status, insurance information, and other non-clinical needs.
  • Prepare biologic consent forms and ensure required information is complete before appointments.
  • Verify that demographic and insurance information is current and notify appropriate staff of discrepancies or changes.
  • Scan, upload, and maintain biologics-related documentation in the patient's electronic medical record.
  • Monitor incoming faxes, electronic messages, and correspondence and route items to the appropriate team member.
  • Follow up with specialty pharmacies regarding prescription status, shipment status, refill needs, and other outstanding items.
  • Assist with coordinating medication deliveries and documenting shipment information.
  • Help track medications received for upcoming patient appointments and alert the appropriate team member of potential issues.
  • Help identify patients with upcoming appointments who may have missing medication, consent, insurance, or documentation requirements.
  • Assist with scheduling and rescheduling biologic injection appointments according to department scheduling guidelines.
  • Support patient assistance program paperwork by collecting signatures, insurance cards, income documentation, or other required information.
  • Perform routine audits of patient records and department tracking systems for missing or incomplete information.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Strong data entry skills and experience with EMR or EHR systems (Cerner a plus).
  • Ability to gather, verify, and update patient demographic information accurately.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation for accurate documentation.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate work activities effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, staff, and patients.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining quality, accuracy, and confidentiality of patient information.
  • Ability to understand, support, and comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of business ethics and conduct.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Experience:
  • Previous experience in a medical office, call center, or healthcare administrative role preferred
  • Experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
