Job summary

GHD in California seeks a Technical Director - Biological Resources to lead wildlife biology, botany, and wetland projects across Irvine, San Diego, Los Angeles and other offices.

You will guide environmental reviews under CEQA/NEPA, win and manage major projects, and mentor teams while embracing our hybrid work model.

The role requires industry leadership, client development, and delivering high-quality environmental documentation while collaborating within a multidisciplinary network.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in wildlife biology, botany and/or wetland science.
• Experience in business development and growing practice areas.
• Experience overseeing environmental review processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams to complete field studies and related reports for biological resources.
• Coordinate CEQA/NEPA documentation and regulatory approvals.
• Manage health, safety, and environment within the area of responsibility.
• Oversee portfolio of major projects and ensure quality and schedule.
• Manage key client relationships and account teams to maintain satisfaction.
• Develop staff capabilities and coach team members.
