Carleton College's Psychology Department invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biological Psychology, focusing on neural bases of complex human behavior. Start date is September 1, 2027, with teaching five courses per year in our trimester system and active student research collaboration on campus.

The ideal candidate will teach introductory psychology, statistics, mid-level biological psychology, and methods-based labs; a Ph.D.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in psychology preferred; applicants who will complete by September 2027 will be considered.
  • Teach introductory psychology, psychological data analysis (statistics), mid-level courses in biological psychology and/or related subfield.
  • Contribute to Carleton’s Neuroscience Program and supervise undergraduate research on campus.

Responsibilities

  • Teach five courses per year in Carleton’s trimester system (Fall, Winter, Spring).
  • Lead and mentor undergraduate research in a lab setting.
  • Develop and deliver courses on biological brain processes accessible to undergraduates.
