Job summary

Carleton College is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biological Psychology to begin Fall 2027. The position emphasizes teaching five courses per year across core psychology and neuroscience offerings, with a focus on neural processes underlying cognition, affect, and behavior.

The ideal candidate will contribute to the Neuroscience Program, mentor undergraduate researchers, and design introductory and advanced courses while making the subject accessible to a diverse student body.

Qualifications

• Completed Ph.D. in psychology is preferred, but applicants who will complete their Ph.D. by September 2027 will be considered.
• Ability to teach introductory psychology and data analysis (statistics) courses.
• Ability to teach biological psychology and related subfields and contribute to the Neuroscience Program.

Responsibilities

• Teach five courses per year in Carleton's trimester system (Fall, Winter, Spring).
• Teach introductory psychology and psychology data analysis (statistics) courses.
• Lead undergraduate research projects and hands-on demonstrations in methods; collaborate with the Neuroscience Program.
