BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd.

Paid training, no overnight or on-call shifts required! We are currently looking for individuals with Spanish / English bilingual skills.

Base Salary Range: $40.00 to $46.00 / Hour.

Employees may also be eligible for Short Term and Long-Term Incentive benefits. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and Paid Volunteer Time Off.

The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE

The Bilingual Spanish speaking Medical Support Specialist helps support our donors, including Spanish-speaking donors, by performing all Medical Support Specialist duties. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing adverse events, reviewing lab results, and notifying donors of test outcomes. The Specialist works under the supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician, following industry regulations and supporting environmental, health, and safety standards.

How you will contribute
  1. You will determine donor eligibility, including managing informed consent, medical history, physical exams, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
  2. You will evaluate donor reactions and handle medical emergencies according to SOPs, developing standing orders and arranging emergency transport when necessary.
  3. You will refer complex or unacceptable findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance.
  4. You will support vaccination programs for employees, such as Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu.
  5. You will manage employee incidents, determining if further evaluation is needed, and follow EHS guidance.
  6. You may act as a Pandemic Coordinator, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats as authorized.
What you bring to Takeda:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate nursing education as per state requirements.
  • Current licensure or certification as RN, NP, or PA in the state of employment.
  • Current CPR and AED certifications.
  • State requirements for IV therapy, as applicable.
  • Completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialists.
  • At least two years of clinical or hospital experience.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish, with proficient reading and speaking skills.
