Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz is seeking a Bioinformatics Programmer to manage and analyze data from NEXT- generation sequencers, collaborating with faculty on genomic projects. You will develop tools, publish methods, and co-author studies while expanding your skillset in a dynamic team.

The role emphasizes data quality control, integration of diverse genomics data, and the creation of pipelines for routine analyses within a hybrid on-campus setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computational Biology, Systems Biology, Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 3 years programming experience with Python, R, Java, Go, Bash, SQL, MySQL.
• Minimum 3 years tools/library experience with Git, Linux, Scikit-Learn, Numpy, Pandas, Samtools, Bedtools, Bowtie2, STAR, Nextflow, Snakemake.

Responsibilities

• Work with multi-omics data analysis and integration approaches.
• Perform robust data quality control and validation.
• Analyze sequencing data types including single-cell, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, Hi-C, bisulfite, and WGS.
• Collaborate with bench scientists to understand research goals.
• Integrate genomics data and present computational results concisely.
• Design and implement standard and customized genomics pipelines.
• Conduct meta-analyses of GEO and other datasets as assigned.
