Job summary

247Hire seeks a Bioinformatics Scientist to support Diagnostics Discovery Sciences Research and Early Development in the United States. The role requires broad bioinformatic analysis across NGS, scRNAseq, and multiomics, collaborating with wet lab scientists and internal stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain internal algorithms and tools.

The candidate will design high-throughput sequencing experiments, develop analytical pipelines for diagnostic data from disease and cell-free DNA

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of experience.
  • Expertise in DNA/RNA sequencing and scRNAseq data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with 10X Genomics analysis workflows.
  • Proficient in programming in R and/or Python, with experience in a distributed Linux environment.
  • Proficient in creating clear, insightful visualizations of complex biological data.

Responsibilities

  • Support Diagnostics Discovery Sciences Research and Early Development team.
  • Collaborate with molecular and computational biologists, and wet lab scientists to design and troubleshoot scRNAseq experiments.
  • Develop and maintain analytical tools and pipelines for processing diagnostic data from disease, germline, and cell-free DNA samples.
  • Create, implement, and streamline bioinformatics workflows with wet lab scientists.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting to ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility across the diagnostic workflow.
  • Document, train, and scale algorithms and workflows for reproducibility.
  • Communicate project outcomes and team progress across teams and functions.

Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Seeking a talented and highly motivated Bioinformatics Scientist to support the firm Diagnostics Discovery Sciences Research and Early Development team. This role requires a broad understanding of bioinformatic analysis across diverse technologies, including NGS, scRNAseq, and multiomics. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with wet lab scientists, internal stakeholders, and academic collaborators to design, implement, and maintain internal algorithms and tools.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of molecular and computational biologists, as well as wet lab scientists, to design, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced high-throughput sequencing scRNAseq experiments.
  • Contribute bioinformatics expertise throughout the assay development lifecycle, including initial sequencing, validation, and production implementation, by developing and maintaining analytical tools and pipelines for processing diagnostic data from disease, germline, and cell-free DNA samples.
  • Create, implement, and streamline bioinformatics tools and workflows in partnership with wet lab scientists to enhance assay development efficiency and data quality.
  • Provide hands‑on troubleshooting to ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility across the diagnostic workflow, while addressing the needs of internal and external stakeholders through scientific and business analyses.
  • Advocate for best practices in documenting, training, and scaling algorithms, tools, and workflows to ensure reproducibility and scalability.
  • Communicate project outcomes and team progress across various teams and organizational functions to promote alignment and collaboration.

Required Skills:

  • Required: You have a Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of experience
  • Expertise in DNA/RNA sequencing as well as scRNAseq data analysis and interpretation.
  • Hands‑on experience with 10X Genomics analysis workflows
  • Strong understanding of molecular biology principles and hands‑on familiarity with next‑generation sequencing laboratory processes.
  • Proficient in programming skills in R and/or Python, with experience working in a distributed Linux environment. (Proficiency in C++ or Java is a plus)
  • Proficient in creating clear, insightful visualizations of complex biological data, with strong presentation skills

Preferred Skills:

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, or a related field with 2 years of industry experience in clinical diagnostics or related domain or a Masters degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, or a related field with 5 years of industry experience in clinical diagnostics or a related domain
