This position is within the Division of HIV, Infectious Diseases and Global Medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG), a leader in HIV clinical care, research, and education. The division hosts a network of clinics, research trials, and international programs.
Job Summary: The Bioinformatics Programmer 3 will work closely with Dr. Lee’s research group (https://sulggileelab.ucsf.edu/) on clinical and translational research related to infectious diseases like HIV and SARS-CoV-2. Responsibilities include designing and implementing data analysis methods for projects involving genome sequencing, single-cell sequencing, and pathogen-specific assays. The role involves managing server resources and applying complex computational methods.
Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, computational fields, or related experience, with at least 3 years of programming experience using R and Python. Experience with next-generation sequencing, genomics, web security, and data management is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential.
Preferred Qualifications: A Master’s or PhD in relevant fields and experience with immunophenotyping are desirable.
The salary range is $100,000 - $156,900 annually, with benefits detailed at UCSF benefits.
