Job summary

The Lundquist Institute is seeking a Bioinformatics Analyst II to support clinical and translational research by processing, analyzing, and presenting NGS and multi-omics data. You will assemble raw sequencing data into analysis-ready datasets, assess quality, apply established and emerging methods, and prepare results for publications or presentations.

Collaboration with lab members, investigators, and external partners is essential, with thoughtful use of AI where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a quantitative field (bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, biostatistics, CS).
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience in bioinformatics or genomics.
• Experience with NGS and omics analytics.
• Proficiency in R; working knowledge of Python and other open-source tools.
• Experience analyzing genomic/epigenomic/transcriptomic data.
• Ability to organize outputs for publications and presentations.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and scientific communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and assemble raw NGS data into analysis-ready formats for multi-omics analyses.
• Perform QC and evaluate data quality and analytical suitability of datasets.
• Conduct reproducible analyses using R, Python, and open-source tools.
• Access and analyze public genomic and omics databases to support research questions.
• Develop and refine analytical workflows for clinical/translational studies.
• Visualize and summarize results for manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and reports.
• Assemble figures, methods, and documentation for publications.
• Collaborate with team members and external partners to meet analytical needs.
• Incorporate AI/ML approaches in bioinformatics workflows when appropriate.
• Maintain organized code, metadata, and version-controlled documentation.
