Job summary

Nationwide Children's Hospital seeks a Bioinformatics Analyst to analyze single-cell and spatial data, with expertise in spatial transcriptomics, scRNA-seq and Visium HD, to advance lung regeneration research in Dr. Hu's lab.

You will support lab training, develop workflows, and interpret genomic variations for disease insights. The candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, maintain genomic databases, and stay current with genomics advances, contributing to therapeutic pathways

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular genetics, computer science, bioinformatics, or related field.
• MS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or related discipline (preferred).
• Superior attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be essential.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment.
• Experience in a Linux/Unix environment and familiarity with scripting and process automation (Python/Perl, shell).

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and interprets genomic data to identify potential disease-causing mutations or genetic variations.
• Develops and implements bioinformatics pipelines and workflows for genomic data analysis.
• Collaborates with research teams to design experiments and analyze data.
• Maintains and updates genomic databases and software tools.
• Communicates findings and results to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Stays up-to-date with the latest developments in bioinformatics and genomics research.
