Goldbelt Professional Services LLC is seeking a Bioinformatician to provide statistical support for the Office of the Director (OD). The role focuses on data collection, analysis, and reporting across public health surveillance, including CDC response activities and training exercises.

Responsibilities include building databases, conducting analyses with SAS/R/Python, and preparing reports for scientific audiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 1–2 years in public health or quantitative field.
  • Proficiency with statistical software (SAS, R, Python, etc.).
  • Experience with data management systems and data management software.

  • Conduct descriptive statistics, factor analyses, and regression analyses.
  • Extract data from NHSN and similar sources for analysis.
  • Prepare preliminary interpretations of analyses for scientific audiences and teams.
  • Prepare reports supporting manuscript development based on analytic results.
  • Perform statistical analyses of complex surveillance on large datasets; apply merging techniques.
  • Support CDC response activities and training exercises as directed by the DHQP Team Lead.

Goldbelt Professional Services specializes in providing expert resources for Public Health missions including scientific, technical, and administrative support from junior staff to high-level subject matter experts. Research and data driven, Goldbelt Professional Services' experts create solutions customized to the client's needs.

Summary:

Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Bioinformatician to provide statistical support for the Office of the Director (OD).

Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
  • Utilize research methodology and data collection tools to ensure appropriate data is gathered.
  • Design and maintain databases for management, including SAS, SUDAAN, Access, and Excel.
  • Conduct data analyses including descriptive statistics, factor analyses, and various regression models.
  • Extract data from sources including NHSN for analysis.
  • Prepare preliminary interpretations of analyses for scientific and public audiences, project teams, and/or management.
  • Prepare reports based on analytical results, supporting manuscript development.
  • Perform statistical analysis of complex surveillance using large datasets, including merging techniques and established statistical methodologies.
  • Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a relevant public health or quantitative field.
  • Highly proficient in using various statistical software (SAS, R, Python, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data management systems and application of data management software.
  • Previous experience working with the government procedures and guidelines.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree plus 3-5 years of relevant work experience in a relevant public health or quantitative field.
  • Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually.
