Job summary

Overview

Gameto is seeking a dynamic and collaborative Bioinformatics Scientist to join our R&D team in building the next generation of cell-based therapies for women’s health. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply cutting-edge computational biology approaches to advance the characterization, optimization, and control of cell therapy products. You’ll help shape the molecular foundation of Gameto’s therapeutic pipeline through rigorous analysis of high-dimensional datasets, including single-cell and bulk transcriptomics, proteomics, and product-release data.

About the Role

As a Bioinformatics Scientist, you will lead the analysis and integration of multi-omics data to understand cell state transitions, identify biomarkers, and support product development and manufacturing processes. Your work will be instrumental in shaping cell product identity and mechanism of action, supporting release assay development, and generating insights that enable data-driven decision-making across R&D, CMC, and Quality teams.

We’re looking for an individual with strong analytical acumen, fluency in programming and statistical modeling, and a collaborative mindset who is eager to contribute to a mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing data to identify cell state transitions, molecular signatures, and phenotypic markers relevant to product development and potency.
  • Integrating multi-omics datasets, such as transcriptomics, proteomics (mass spectrometry), and flow cytometry, to define cell identity and understand mechanisms of action.
  • Supporting experimental design and statistical analysis for research and preclinical development studies.
  • Analyzing data from release assays (e.g., genomic integrity, vector site integration) and supporting development of QC metrics and dashboards.
  • Collaborating with CMC and Quality teams to assist with assay qualification, stability studies, and manufacturing data analysis.
  • Applying machine learning and AI frameworks for predictive modeling of cell therapy process parameters and quality attributes.
  • Building and maintaining internal bioinformatics pipelines and dashboards for data analysis, visualization, and regulatory reporting.
  • Staying current with advancements in computational biology, bioinformatics, and systems biology, and proposing innovative tools or methods to enhance research and manufacturing.
  • Preparing datasets and interpretations for internal reports, regulatory submissions, and cross-functional team discussions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Masters in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Systems Biology, or a related quantitative field.
  • 1–3+ years of hands-on experience applying bioinformatics in a biotech, pharmaceutical, or academic research setting; experience in cell/gene therapy preferred.
  • Proficiency in analysis of high-throughput sequencing data (scRNA-seq, bulk RNA-seq), proteomics, and flow cytometry datasets.
  • Strong programming skills in R and/or Python; experience building reproducible pipelines and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques, including PCA, clustering, and differential expression analysis.
  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks and their application to process modeling or manufacturing analytics is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of AWS for data storage and analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work across wet-lab, analytical, and manufacturing teams.
  • Highly organized, curious, and resourceful, with a passion for solving complex biological problems using computational tools.
