Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant biosciences field.
  • Hands-on experience with genetic engineering tools including cloning and pathway assembly.
  • Knowledge of enzyme engineering and DBTL workflows.
  • Expertise in microbial physiology and metabolism.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and address metabolic bottlenecks; design, construct, and optimize biosynthetic pathways.
  • Apply DBTL to evaluate enzyme panels and engineered variants; improve pathway activity.
  • Design, construct, and validate vectors for expression in microbial hosts.
  • Construct E. coli strains using recombineering or CRISPR-based edits to support development campaigns.
  • Develop high-throughput screening workflows to evaluate strain and enzyme performance.
  • Operate GC and LC instrumentation to quantify titer, yield, and productivity.
