Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences in Irvine, CA is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the on-site Edwards Quality Lab. You will support non-clinical testing for medical devices, performing in vitro and in vivo work under supervision, with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional weekend rotations.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree in a related science and at least one year of hands-on experience in biological testing, in fast-paced lab settings.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related scientific field (Biology, Veterinary Science, Animal Science, or similar).
• At least one year of experience with in vitro and in vivo biological testing in academic or industry settings (medical device/pharma/biotech).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine lab tests under supervision of Laboratory Supervisor and Study Directors.
• Perform in vitro biology tests (cytotoxicity, hemolysis, PTT, platelet counts, genotoxicity).
• Perform in vivo assays using small animals per ISO 10993 (mouse systemic toxicity, rabbit intracutaneous reactivity, guinea pig maximization).
• Calibrate and operate standard lab equipment; prepare chemicals and reagents.
• Record results and data; initiate and support lab investigations.
• Assist in validation activities for equipment and test methods under supervision.
