Position Overview

The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of South Alabama Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine invites applications for multiple tenure-track/tenured faculty positions at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor. The department has diverse research programs focused on the molecular basis of cancer, lung biology/disease, metabolism, genetic variants and cardiovascular disease, and offers a competitive start‑up package and excellent laboratory space in the Medical Sciences Building and USA Health Mitchell Cancer Institute.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

We seek committed and compassionate scientists with expertise in biochemistry and/or molecular biology. Successful candidates must hold a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or DVM/PhD degree, be committed to medical and graduate student education, and have a strong record of research productivity. Applicants holding the rank of associate or full professor must have current research support.
