Job summary

Eurofins Foster City is seeking a diligent scientist to develop analytical methods for biologic products using plate-based assays and HPLC, and to acquire data for molecule characterization and process development.

The role requires a BS in biology or a related field and 2+ years in a high-throughput lab, with proficiency in SoftMax Pro, HPLC, CE-SDS, and aseptic technique. Full-time, 8am–5pm, with overtime; excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• BS in biology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science or related field.
• 2+ years in a high throughput laboratory environment.
• Hands-on proficiency with plate-based assays and HPLC/CE-SDS.
• Experience with aseptic technique and multi-channel pipetting.
• Ability to work fast-paced environment and multitask.
• Familiarity with lab automation and data management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop analytical methods for biologics using plate-based assays and HPLC.

• Maintain documentation in electronic lab notebooks and reports.
• Support testing for mass spectrometry as needed.
• Assist troubleshooting of instrumentation and methods.

Job Description

• Develop analytical methods for biologic products using plate based assays (potency and process related impurities) and HPLC (size exclusion, ion exchange, reversed phase, etc.
• Acquire and interpret data for molecule characterization and process development studies.
• Maintain good documentation practices for recording experimental plans and results in electronic lab notebook and associated reports.
• May support testing for mass spectrometry (LC-MS, LC-MS/MS, ToF, etc.).
• Assist in troubleshooting of instrumentation and test methods.
• Able to work well independently and in a team setting on assigned tasks, such as method development and testing.
• Participate in group meetings, present results of work, interpret data, and draw conclusions regarding presented material and nature of work.
• Work in collaboration with more senior scientists to design experiments and advance state-of-the‑art techniques.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or related discipline
• 2+ years’ experience working in a high throughput laboratory environment
• Hands‑on proficiency and problem‑solving skills with plate based assays (softmax pro), HPLC, CE‑SDS, etc.
• Must have experience with aseptic technique and muli‑channel pipetting
• Must be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and capable of multitasking
• Familiarity with lab automation, data science, knowledge management is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry experience with performing 96 well plate based assays
• Strong written and verbal communication with a strong attention to detail
• Able to take direction and then manage semi‑routine tasks independently

• This position is full time, Monday through Friday, 8am - 5pm, with overtime, as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Foster City, CA are encouraged to apply.
