DHT Group, based out of Reese, Michigan, has been ensuring safety and satisfaction for over 40 years. We are hiring at all facilities, including additional Michigan locations in Newport and Port Huron, as well as Bellefontaine, Ohio. Our divisions include Tanker, Gravel Train, Flatbed, Van, Excavating, and Landscape Supply.

The Opportunity

We are actively seeking applicants for a gravel train operation task. The driver will be assigned to area wastewater treatment plants to assist in the removal of bio solid waste and delivery to area landfills.

Interested candidates MUST have gravel train operation experience. Landfill experience is highly preferred. The position is based out of Flint, Michigan, and we are seeking applicants from the Flint area. Drivers will be able to park the truck locally.

$1000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants.

Gravel Train Driver Essential Duties
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting goods.
  • Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
  • Collect delivery instructions from appropriate sources, verifying instructions and routes.
  • Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
  • Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable regulations.
  • Properly maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage.
  • Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment when required.
  • Check load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Drive trucks to weigh stations before and after loading and along routes in compliance with regulations.
  • Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting/disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks.
  • Check trailers after unloading to ensure no damage and all product has been removed.
  • Clean the inside and outside of trailers as necessary.
Gravel Train Driver Compensation Package
  • Hourly Pay: $25.00/hr

Requirements
  • Licensed CDL Class A Driver
  • Acceptable MVR
  • T Endorsement (Doubles Endorsement)
  • 3-6 months of verifiable gravel train driving experience

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Must pass a drug and alcohol screen.
  • Must pass a DOT physical.
