Job summary

Elanco is hiring an Operator to support biologics manufacturing at its Elwood, KS monoclonal antibody (mAb) facility. The role involves executing core manufacturing steps, maintaining aseptic conditions, and ensuring compliance with cGMP standards; you will document activities and collaborate with QC for sampling.

The shift is 12 hours (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM) with premium pay on weekends and overtime outside shift hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows/Microsoft Office) and communication.
• Demonstrates teamwork, initiative, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
• Able to wear appropriate gowning and PPE in production areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document all tasks and activities associated with biologics manufacturing.
• Execute and monitor core mAb manufacturing processes (media/buffer preparation, upstream/downstream processing, formulation, fill/finish, secondary packaging).
• Maintain cGMP compliance in a regulated environment (USDA/FDA/EMA).
• Follow SOPs and batch records for equipment operation, processing and daily tasks.
• Perform aseptic manipulations and maintain a sterile environment.
• Support equipment preparation, maintenance, and process improvements, interfacing with QC for sampling and environmental monitoring.

Shift & Schedule

12‑hour shift: 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM, every other weekend. Weekend work carries a 4% premium and overtime outside shift hours a 10% premium.

Location

Elwood, KS (Onsite).

Responsibilities

• Perform and document all tasks and activities associated with biologics manufacturing.
• Execute and monitor core mAb manufacturing processes (media/buffer preparation, upstream/downstream processing, formulation, fill/finish, secondary packaging).
• Maintain cGMP compliance in a regulated environment (USDA/FDA/EMA).
• Follow SOPs and batch records for equipment operation, processing and daily tasks.
• Perform aseptic manipulations and maintain a sterile environment.
• Support equipment preparation, maintenance, and process improvements, interfacing with QC for sampling and environmental monitoring.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows/Microsoft Office) and communication (written and verbal).
• Demonstrates teamwork, initiative, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude.
• Able to wear appropriate gowning and personal protective equipment (PPE) in production and manufacturing support areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a biomanufacturing related discipline (e.g., biology, chemistry, engineering).
• Experience in a regulated, commercial GMP biomanufacturing environment (media/buffer preparation, cell culture, fermentation, aseptic processing, chromatography, TFF, final formulation, fill/finish).
• Understanding of USDA, FDA and EU GMP regulatory standards for veterinary biologics.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
