Job summary

RRD, a leading provider of marketing, packaging, print, and supply chain solutions, seeks a Bindery Assistant for 1st shift in Dallas, TX. You will assist Bindery Operators with setup and operation of binding equipment, ensuring tolerances and quality.

Responsibilities include interpreting orders, preparing operations, and performing routine maintenance. The role requires precise adjustments, hand-tool use, and careful paper handling across diverse sizes and formats.

Qualifications

• Assist in set-up of more complicated binding machinery under supervision.
• Adjust machines for paper size, thickness, and margins.
• Basic arithmetic and fractions knowledge for setup calculations.
• Use hand tools to make machine adjustments.
• Set up, arrange, and hand collate, and stack paper neatly.
• Set up and maintain various bindery machines and accessories.

Responsibilities

• Assist Bindery Operators by setting up and maintaining major or complex binding equipment (i.e. ink jet and mailing devices, power folders and power collators, power cutters, speed binder, in-line cover-inserter with four-knife trimmer).
• Interpret job orders for this equipment, plan operations, and set up/adjust equipment.
• Monitor equipment during operations to ensure tolerances are maintained.
• Make adjustments as necessary.
• Perform daily maintenance such as cleaning machinery and lubricating parts.
