Bolger, a long-standing print company in the Minneapolis area, is seeking a Multi-Competency Bindery Operator. You will ensure finishing processes meet specifications, maintain equipment, and support production with a strong focus on quality and efficiency.

This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to read job specs. You will work closely with the production team to meet deadlines while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in printing/bindery is a plus.
• 1+ years working as a Bindery Operator or similar in a printing environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand job specifications and blueprints.
• Attention to detail with focus on quality control.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain bindery equipment (cutters, folders, stitchers, gluers).
• Review job orders to determine specs and set up equipment.
• Monitor binding process for quality and timeliness.
• Perform maintenance and troubleshoot bindery equipment to minimize downtime.
• Ensure work is completed within budget and delivery timelines.

Job Summary

As a Multi-Competency Bindery Operator, you will be responsible for the finishing process in the printing production workflow. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that printed materials meet quality standards and are completed according to specifications. This position requires a keen eye for detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high-quality finished products.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to operate and maintain different bindery equipment including cutters, folders, stitchers, gluers etc.
• Review job orders to determine specifications and set up equipment accordingly.
• Monitor the binding process to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to production schedules.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on bindery equipment to minimize downtime.
• Ensure all work is completed within budget and delivery timeframes.
• Inspect finished products for quality control, ensuring they meet production standards.
• Collaborate closely with other production team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety regulations and best practices.
• Keep accurate records of production runs, materials used, and machine performance.

• Moderate exposure to dirt and dust; frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
