Job Description

Shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Pay: $17.50/hr to $19.00/hr

2nd Shift Differential: $2/hr

• Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines containing several cutting heads, control surfaces, or other attachments (e.g., inkjet and mailing devices, case making & decorating equipment, folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding/gluing machines).
• Set up automatic bindery machines with multiple functions and station capabilities (power paper cutters, collators, gatherers, folders, binders) to produce finished printed products like books, catalogs, manuals, or magazines.
• Inspect equipment for safety issues.
• Operate automatic adhesive binding machines (perfect binders) that contain multiple process stations to produce finished books, magazines, or catalogs.
• Make adjustments to coordinate work stations on a machine.
• Supervise production processes.
• Monitor quality, output, and productivity.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and interpret work orders and specifications, maintaining accuracy and making independent decisions on equipment use.
• Calculate distances, clearances, and fits for machine operations.
• Proficient in using tools and devices to adjust and maintain bindery machines.
• Knowledge of complex bindery machines and their capabilities for folding, collating, and cutting printed materials.
• Understanding of paper stock qualities and machining requirements.
• Skill in setting up and adjusting machines for finishing operations, ensuring quality and preventing impressions on printed materials.

Additional Information

All information will be kept confidential per EEO guidelines. The pay range is $17.50 to $24.00 per hour, depending on factors such as education, skills, experience, and location. Compensation may include overtime and shift differentials.
