Job Description
Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Pay: $17.50/hr to $19.00/hr
- Set up, adjust, and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines containing several cutting heads, control surfaces, or other attachments (e.g., inkjet and mailing devices, case making & decorating equipment, folders, cutters, collators, stitchers, drills, binding/gluing machines).
- Set up automatic bindery machines with multiple functions and station capabilities (power paper cutters, power collators and gatherers, power folders, power speed binder) to produce final printed products such as books, catalogs, manuals, directories, and magazines.
- Inspect equipment for safety issues.
- Operate automatic adhesive binding machines (perfect binders) that include multiple process stations for vibrating, milling, roughening, gluing, covering, and stacking completed products.
- Make adjustments to coordinate multiple work stations on a single machine.
- Direct crew through all aspects of production.
- Monitor quality, output, and productivity.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret work orders or specifications to determine bindery requirements, ensuring accuracy and making equipment decisions independently.
- Ability to calculate distances, clearances, and fits for machine setup.
- Skill in using standard and specialized tools for adjusting and maintaining bindery machines.
- Knowledge of complex bindery machines (e.g., fully automatic binding machines, multi-station collators, folding units).
- Thorough understanding of setup, operation, and limitations of bindery machines for folding, collating, and cutting printed materials.
- Knowledge of paper stock qualities and machining requirements.
- Skill in machine setup and adjustment for finishing operations, considering paper weight, color, and quality to prevent impressions or defects.
Additional Information

The pay range for this role is $17.50 to $24.00 per hour, with actual pay based on education, skills, experience, performance, shift, and location. Compensation may include bonuses, overtime, shift differentials, and other pay.
