Description
The Bindery Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining bindery equipment, including Cutters, Folders, and Saddle Stitchers. Key duties involve troubleshooting mechanical issues, performing scheduled and preventive maintenance, and maintaining operational efficiency. The operator also inspects printed materials for quality throughout the production process, adheres to safety regulations, and operates pallet jacks to move products around the production floor as needed. Attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work flexible hours—including overtime and weekends to meet production deadlines—are essential for success in this role.

Preferred Education and Experience
Physical Demands: Standing for extended periods and frequent lifting of up to 25 lbs. Continuous vision. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. frequently. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Frequent hand/wrist/finger movement for gripping mailer bundles and carrying mail trays. Pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. to move palletized load. Frequent reaching, twisting, and gripping up to 25 lbs. to move paper stock. Occasional crouching and use of hand tools during routine machine maintenance.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday. 1st shift is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; 2nd shift is 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Weekend hours may be required during peak production times. This position typically works 40-50 hours per week
The pay range for this position is $17-$28 per hour. Compensation is dependent on experience and industry knowledge.
