Publix Super Markets Printing Services in Lakeland, FL is seeking a skilled Bindery Operator to finish and package printed products. You will set up and assemble components into final kits, and operate a range of bindery/finishing equipment.

The role requires reading job specs, ensuring accuracy, maintaining equipment, labeling, packing, palletizing, and tracking production time and materials using shop-floor terminals.

This requires the set-up and assembly of single and/or multiple components into a final product, either manually or by operating the following basic bindery/finishing equipment: shrink-wrapper, 30-inch cutter, padding racks, rubberstamp assembly, three-hole drill, spiral punch & binder, tab laminator & cutter, stitcher, box maker, table-top folder, table-top laminator, and high-speed punch.Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the accurate reading and comprehension of written job specifications. Job specifications provide the production details of each job/finished product.

• Responsible for the safe and efficient set-up and complete operation of all basic bindery/finishing equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma plus bindery trade school training/diploma
• One year of trade bindery work experience
• Bindery trade certification(s)
• Knowledge of chain-of-custody (CoC) processes and procedures, specific to the correct procedures for segregation and identification of both raw materials and finished product
• Knowledge of set-up and operational knowledge of all equipment
• Knowledge of basic mailing regulations
• Publix and Printing Services job and code numbering systems
• Knowledge of shipping and distribution
• Shop Floor Data Collection, via Monarch Data Collection (thin net) Terminals
• Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Knowledge of general Publix and Printing/Mailing Services’ policies and procedures (attendance/punctuality, plant security, safety, etc.),
• General printing knowledge, particularly with regard to the principles of binding and finishing and the ability to recognize problems that could adversely affect the quality of the finished product

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks pay.
