Job description

We are looking for a high energy, positive attitude person with integrity and a strong work ethic to join our team as a Bindery and Finishing Specialist.

The Bindery and Finishing Specialist will work under the direction of the Bindery or Center Manager in a digital print/bindery production environment, providing a high-quality finished product that matches order specifications and meets deadlines.

Daily Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Attends daily production meetings
  2. Schedules jobs
  3. Able to excel efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
  4. Checks due dates for all orders
  5. Informs Production Manager of any due date problems
  6. Ensures order accuracy
  7. Tests cut on a sample before cutting entire job
  8. Completes Quality Assurance for each job
  9. Checks orders for quality and completeness before packaging and returning to customers
  10. Orders bindery supplies needed
  11. Operates equipment safely and in accordance with equipment instructions
  12. Cleans and organizes bindery area throughout the day
  13. Notifies Owner/General Manager of equipment needing service
  14. Conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times
  15. Maintains a positive, can-do attitude with willingness to find solutions for projects
Ongoing (as needed):

  1. Restocks bindery department
  2. Attends weekly redo meetings to go over procedure and policies
  3. Accurately counts bindery inventory on the last day of the month
  4. Maintains cleanliness under equipment and carts
  5. Helps train employees on bindery equipment
  6. Assists other departments/completes special jobs as required
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  1. 6+ years prior bindery experience expected
  2. Ability to communicate effectively with all personnel
  3. Experience with table top folders, collators, booklet makers, cutter, drill, stitcher and book-binding equipment required
  4. Computer proficiency and knowledge of analog & computerized bindery equipment (cutting, folding, saddle stitching, laminating, UV Coating, folding and gluing)
  5. Proficient with PrintSmith job tracking software strongly preferred
  6. Good eye for detail and above average mechanical skills
  7. Accountability and initiative is expected, as well as a "can-do" approach
  8. Excellent attendance and punctuality required

Job Type:

Full-time – Hours are 8:00am – 5:00pm

Compensation/Benefits:

  1. Compensation commensurate with experience
  2. Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision and Life) available after 90 days of employment
  3. Rate increase opportunity upon successful completion of 90-Day Introductory Period
  4. Retirement Compensation: 401K Benefits offered
