Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group in Reston, VA seeks a VDC Executive to lead BIM/VDC initiatives across large-scale HVAC and plumbing projects. You will mentor a talented team, establish standards, and collaborate with project managers and field teams to optimize constructability.

Ideal candidates have 5–7 years of BIM/VDC experience, proficiency in Revit/Navisworks/AutoCAD, and a degree in Construction Management or Engineering. Travel to DMV sites up to 30–40% is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of BIM/VDC experience in the mechanical construction industry.
• Proven experience leading BIM/VDC coordination for large-scale commercial projects.
• Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and other BIM/VDC tools.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems design and installation.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, coordination, and maintenance of BIM models for HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Establish and enforce company-wide BIM/VDC standards, workflows, and best practices.
• Manage and mentor BIM/VDC team members to ensure quality and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to resolve coordination issues.
• Conduct clash detection, design reviews, and model-based constructability analyses.
• Oversee BIM/VDC project schedules, resource allocation, and deliverables.
