Job summary

Syskahennessy is seeking an AutoCAD/BIM Digital Designer IV located in San Diego or San Francisco. This role involves drafting and generating plans in AutoCAD and Revit, along with supporting design tasks such as modifying CAD/BIM files and conducting reviews of BIM models.

Qualifications

Job description

AutoCAD/BIM Digital Designer IV position in the West Region (San Diego offices or San Francisco, CA).

Job Responsibilities
  • Draft/generate redlines for plans, diagrams, and schedule drawings in AutoCAD and/or Revit from redlined drawings
  • Provide design assistance and calculations to Designers and Engineers
  • Produce drawings/projects consistent with instruction, guidelines, and CAD/BIM standards
  • Modify Architectural CAD/BIM files for use in MEP design drawings (clean-up, audit, reference, troubleshooting)
  • Review BIM models for coordination using Revit and Navisworks
  • Support the BIM manager in setting up Revit templates, family creation, and staff support
  • Prepare projects for client submissions
  • Assist with the management of Revit files and projects
Job Requirements

This is a CAD/BIM Digital Designer role requiring effective organizational skills, the ability to prioritize workload, and strong communication skills. The candidate should be a team player with extensive experience in the MEP CAD/BIM field.

  • Associate’s degree or completion of trade school or equivalent formal training
  • 7 to 10 years of working experience with an MEP firm in a CAD/BIM role
  • Knowledge of drawings to understand red marks
  • Able to read floor plans, sections, and elevations
  • Possess basic drafting skills
  • Experience with manipulating and receiving various file formats
  • Available to work necessary hours in order to meet project deadlines
  • Familiar with at least one: Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing trades
  • Experience with the MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and Reader
