Job summary

Mi‑Tech, part of the Michels Family of Companies, is seeking a BIM Technician I to develop and maintain 3D models and construction drawings that support project execution. You will work with engineers, PMs, and BIM leadership to ensure accuracy and feasibility of designs.

This role emphasizes model production, detailing, and documentation, collaborating to resolve design issues and align with project requirements. Office-based with occasional site travel and support for multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of BIM/VDC or detailing experience in construction or engineering.
• Proficient with Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam; Inventor preferred.
• Experience producing 3D models and 2D construction drawings.
• Familiar with model-based workflows and drafting standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate 3D BIM models using Revit and other tools.
• Produce detailed construction drawings, shop drawings, and fabrication-ready documentation.
• Incorporate markups, redlines, and design revisions into models and drawings.
• Assist in preparing models for coordination and clash detection processes.
• Ensure models/drawings align with project specs, design intent, and standards.
• Support model setup, organization, and file management (views, sheets, version control).
• Collaborate with engineers and BIM leadership to resolve design details and drafting issues.
• Extract quantities, dimensions, and layout info for construction planning and field teams.
• Maintain BIM standards, naming conventions, and modeling best practices.
• Prepare/update as-built drawings and record models based on field feedback.
• Participate in project meetings to stay aligned on scope and deliverables.
• Contribute to improving workflows and efficiency across projects.
