Job summary

HDR is seeking a BIM Model Manager to lead digital delivery for projects in the Building Engineering Services Group. You will manage the digital model environment, coordinate multi-discipline models, and maintain the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP) with project teams.

The role requires strong BIM authoring skills, experience in model management, and the ability to support production teams through the full project lifecycle, ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

  • Technical degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5 years digital design (BIM element authoring) and 3 years digital delivery (model management) experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of discipline relations and operations of building systems.
  • Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
  • Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tools.
  • Advanced skillset of Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
  • Familiar with industry standards and discipline codes and specifications.
  • Familiar with basic automation and programming applications for efficiencies.
  • Familiar with 3D design software add-ins and supporting applications.
  • Familiar with content creation and management concepts.
  • Superior client service, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively serve as a first line of technical support

Responsibilities

  • Manage the digital model environment and deliverables for an entire project.
  • Understand how disciplines interact and how construction documents are produced.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to generate and maintain the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP).
  • Establish server infrastructure, discipline models, and digital deliverables per scope.
  • Execute digital deliverables and support production teams through the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical support and communicate the deliverable schedule to the team.
  • Monitor model health and coordination processes from planning to construction documents.
  • Develop and maintain the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP).
  • Establish the document management system and server infrastructure for multi-discipline projects.
  • Ensure the team has appropriate software, versions, access, and training.
  • Generate and maintain model setup including coordinates, scales, views, sheets.
  • Host Digital Delivery coordination meetings to ensure quality control.
  • Coordinate and compile all digital deliverables and exchange processes at milestones.
  • Support project management and client presentations with HDR management and staff

In the role of the BIM Model Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manage the digital model environment and deliverables for an entire project
  • Have an advanced understanding of how all disciplines interact and how construction documents are produced
  • Work directly with the Project Manager to generate and maintain the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP), while managing the deliverables outlined within
  • Begin the project initiation procedure, establishing the server infrastructure, discipline models, and digital deliverables outlined in the project scope
  • Execute digital deliverables and support production teams throughout the complete lifecycle of projects
  • Provide technical support, while communicating the deliverable schedule to the project team
  • Maintain quality, this individual will monitor the model health and coordination processes of the project, from the planning phase thru issue of construction documents
  • Execute these tasks with minimal oversight by the Digital Delivery Leads and provide guidance to project team members
  • Develop and maintain the Digital Delivery Plan (DDP)
  • Establish the document management system and maintain the server infrastructure for multi-discipline projects
  • Ensure the team has the appropriate software, versions, access, and training needed to execute the project requirements
  • Generate and maintain model setup including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views, sheets, and general models, to accommodate the disciplines and project requirements
  • Monitor and maintain company standards and model health
  • Host Digital Delivery coordination meetings with the project team to ensure optimal quality control through Design Reviews and 3D Coordination processes
  • Communicate, coordinate, and compile all project digital deliverables and exchange process at predetermined milestones
  • Project archiving at submittals and closeout
  • Engage in close and effective communication and presentations with HDR management, production staff, and clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing and using automation software products and procedures for design
  • Experience in development and management of diverse teams
  • Preference given to local candidates
