Role Description
This is a full-time role for a BIM Manager / Model Manager. The BIM Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining CAD, BIM, and Revit standards across the organization, managing and developing BIM models, conducting clash detection, and providing technical support and guidance to team members. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and effective collaboration across design disciplines.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain workplace CAD, BIM, and Revit standards for the organization, considering all applicable design disciplines
- Utilize Revit to create, modify, and manage HVAC and Electrical models and ensure compliance with project specifications
- Assist in-house engineers and designers with creating electrical and mechanical project models/drawings in Revit/AutoCAD
- Provide Revit support and management of new BIM models, including development, scanning, and modeling
- Develop and manage processes for checking out master drawings and models to outside firms and integrating their work back into base drawings
- Provide quality control of drawings and BIM information coming from outside sources
- Conduct clash detection using Navisworks and other tools to identify and resolve conflicts in the design phase
- Present to leadership on BIM strategies and related pursuits
- Participate in coordination meetings with other disciplines, such as electrical and plumbing, to ensure integrated designs
- Provide technical support and guidance to team members in the use of BIM software and tools
- Assist in project management tasks, including scheduling and resource allocation, to ensure project milestones are met
- Prepare and maintain master building drawings, including consolidation of existing project drawings and field verification of missing components
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Revit experience, including creating custom Revit families; competence with Navisworks and AutoCAD
- Demonstrated success developing junior designers through effective production and realistic but challenging goal-setting
- Experience developing and maintaining drawing standards
- Proficiency with model integration, including incorporating as-built models and third-party data into a central model
- Experience working with version control for drawings, software, and systems
- Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical building infrastructure
- Experience communicating with peers, project teams, and senior leadership as a leader/expert in your field
- Proficient with construction design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam Revu
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft 365, Outlook, Word, and Excel
