Job Description

Dewberry seeks a Transportation Model Manager (Bentley Systems) to join our Design Technology Solutions team. In this role, you will use your Bentley transportation modeling expertise to partner directly with project teams and own the digital backbone of assigned roadway and bridge projects. This is a project‑facing role that works alongside project managers, task leads, and production teams to keep OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and OpenBridge Modeler (OBM) deliverables stable, standards‑based, and submittal‑ready throughout the project lifecycle.

As a Transportation Model Manager, you will proactively manage model health and common data environments, support disciplined model integration and clash detection workflows, and help produce precise, contract‑compliant digital deliverables. This position is ideal for a professional who enjoys project‑facing partnership, can balance standards with production realities, and is passionate about strengthening digital delivery for transportation infrastructure programs.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project managers and design leads to align digital workflows with project goals, schedules, and delivery requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned ORD/OBM projects for model governance, quality control, and data management.
  • Execute and maintain ProjectWise, ORD, OBM setup workflows, including templates, styles, support content, and drawing organization, and standardize repeatable practices to improve delivery efficiency and meet PxP and client requirements.
  • Manage ORD and OBM data environments and model health, including information governance strategy, file organization, and QC checks to verify compliance with standards, reference integrity, and milestone readiness.
  • Coordinate and execute clash detection and model integration for multi-discipline and multi-phase projects, supporting phased delivery and milestone execution.
  • Support digital delivery requirements by preparing precise, contract‑compliant deliverables for project milestones and submittals in required native or exchange formats.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ yeas of experience.
  • 3+ years of OpenRoad Designer (ORD) and/or OpenBridge Modeler (OBM) experience in DOT production workflows (projects that include feature definitions, annotation groups, and advanced corridor template concepts).
  • Strong understanding of CAD/BIM standards, PxP requirements, and ProjectWise model governance best practices (project organization, references, and data management).
  • Experience supporting multi-discipline coordination and model integration on infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with clash detection and issue coordination workflows and DOT digital delivery requirements.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Skills
  • Professional engineering (PE) licensure.
  • Experience with Bentley Infrastructure Cloud (BIC).
  • Knowledge of interoperability and exchange formats (LandXML, IFC, IMX, KML/KMZ, SHP, GeoJSON).
  • Experience supporting multi-phase transportation, infrastructure, stormwater, or energy projects with complex digital delivery requirements.
  • Experience in graphic design, modeling, rendering, animations and other visualization development.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam for markup and coordination.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation and efficiency tools (e.g., Python).
