Position
BIM Engineer
Summary
A versatile and tech-forward BIM Engineer is sought to join an innovative team. This role is designed for an engineering professional looking to move beyond traditional "siloed" design and work at the intersection of civil and structural engineering, digital modeling, and robotic fabrication. Key responsibilities include ensuring civil and structural designs are perfectly translated into data-rich BIM models ready for AI-driven production lines. This offers a unique opportunity to apply engineering logic to real-world, automated manufacturing.
Essential Duties
BIM Engineering & Digital Design:
- Develop and manage high-precision 2D and 3D models using specialized software, including Tekla Structures and other BIM-related tools.
- Apply engineering principles to ensure structural integrity and optimization of steel elements for manufacturing and assembly.
- Maintain digital data accuracy within models to facilitate seamless integration with robotic and AI fabrication systems.
Project Development & Multi-Functional Support:
- Participate in diverse project areas including basic structural analysis, supply chain coordination, and hands‑on site assessments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (legal, finance, and operations) to ensure engineering designs align with broader business objectives and project timelines.
- Perform clash detection and coordinate between structural models and architectural/MEP schematics to ensure zero-error fabrication.
Sustainability Integration:
- Incorporate Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) principles into designs to minimize the embodied carbon footprint of every project.
- Work closely with the team to implement low-carbon steel initiatives and meet GHG reduction targets.
- Evaluate the environmental impact of material choices and detailing through data-driven modeling.
Cost Estimation & Quantity Surveying:
- Provide accurate quantity take-offs directly from BIM models to assist in the development of real-time cost estimates.
- Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness and material efficiency without compromising safety standards.
