Job summary

Actalent is seeking a BIM Designer in Louisville, KY to transform contract documents into precise piping models and shop drawings. You will work with BIM coordinators, project managers, and field teams to ensure deliverables are constructible and on schedule.

You will model piping systems in Revit, generate spool sheets, and resolve clashes using Navisworks, while managing multiple projects in a fully onsite environment.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Revit for 3D piping models and BIM workflows.
• Experience creating spool sheets, fabrication and installation drawings.
• Ability to read mechanical construction drawings and piping layouts.
• Working knowledge of Navisworks for clash detection and coordination.
• Strong organization and communication, able to manage priorities.
• Clear, professional collaboration with internal teams and field personnel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D models for commercial mechanical and plumbing piping systems.
• Create clear spool sheets, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings.
• Coordinate piping, equipment, supports and clearances with other building systems.
• Use Navisworks and workflows to identify clashes and communicate changes.
• Review plans and specs to identify missing or conflicting information and resolve them.
• Incorporate approved revisions and maintain organized project documentation.
• Manage modeling/drawing work to meet schedules across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with BIM coordinators, project managers, prefab shop, and field leadership.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality, accuracy and constructability standards.
