Job summary

HKS, Inc. is seeking a junior architect/digital practice assistant in San Francisco to support project teams with routine architectural tasks and digital workflow execution.

The role emphasizes maintaining organized project models, adhering to firm digital standards, and contributing to coordinated project delivery. You will assist with Revit-based content, coordinate with BIM managers, and help ensure data integrity across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Accredited professional degree in Architecture or related field required.
• On the path to Architectural Registration.
• Sustainable design accreditation preferred.
• Basic Revit, Rhino and Grasshopper skills required; intermediate preferred.
• Basic visualization and 2D/3D drafting skills expected.
• Familiarity with project lifecycle and QA/QC processes.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine architectural and technical assignments under direction using standard techniques.
• Supports day-to-day digital workflow tasks including model organization and documentation setup.
• Maintains model health and data integrity for large and small projects.
• Develops and modifies project-specific digital content such as views, sheets, schedules.
• Engages in digital coordination with other disciplines and BIM managers.
• Applies quality control to digital work products and coordinates with the Digital Practice team.
• Demonstrates growing fluency in digital tools used for design, documentation, and data exchange.
• Identifies digital workflow issues and escalates to Digital Practice Specialists per procedures.
• Collaborates with team members and participates in project meetings and coordination.
• May assist in proposals, presentations, schedules, and implementation documentation.
• May attend site visits and client/project meetings as appropriate.
• Builds understanding of disciplined digital workflows across teams.
