Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a BIM Designer to join our Data Centre Design Engineering team in Herndon, VA. You will design Civil, Structural, and Architectural BIM models for data centers, using Revit, and produce drawings and documentation in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

You will be a part of highly innovative and efficient multi-disciplinary BIM design team, tasked with designing challenging and complex projects with inventive solutions for Amazon-owned data centre facilities. You will provide support to our Design Engineering team through the preparation of Civil, Structural, and Architectural models and documentation, leveraging BIM data. You will influence data centre design documents for: exterior envelope design; interior architecture; structural systems; furniture, finishes, and equipment; site and civil planning; space planning; seismic considerations; life safety; and building code compliance. You will produce and maintain Civil, Structural, and Architectural drawing sets for our fleet of data centres.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. Daily responsibilities will include designing the Civil, Structural, and Architectural systems of data centres, utilizing Revit to create and maintain BIM models. You should be able to work with support and guidance within a team environment to accomplish assigned tasks. This includes working with internal groups as well as external suppliers and consultants, manufacturers, vendors, and contractors.
A day in the life: As a designer, you will collaborate across disciplines and teams to refine data centre designs. Your work includes creating detailed models, drawings, specification, prototypes, and updating managers and leaders of changes to the building design. You engage in design discussions, review feedback from peers and collaborators, and adjust designs to ensure our data centre solutions meet the highest standards of efficiency and quality.
