Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Architectural BIM Designer to join its DC Design Engineering team. You will design architectural systems for data centers using Revit, produce BIM models, and publish construction drawings for building systems across multiple facilities.

You will maintain regional and global templates, support BIM standards, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and travel to data center sites on occasion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of Architectural design experience on mission‑critical facilities.
• 4+ years of experience using Revit for producing Architectural BIM models and construction drawings.
• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.

Responsibilities

• Design the Architectural systems of data centers using Revit to create and maintain BIM models.
• Prepare and develop detailed Architectural Revit models and publish construction documentation for building system designs.
• Create and maintain regional and global template documents, including Revit Families and Detail Components.
• Update and modify existing models, studies and construction documents as required.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of BIM templates and enforce BIM standards.
• Participate in design coordination meetings for clash detection and resolution.
• Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations.
• Assist information exchange processes between internal and external customers in a Common Data Environment (CDE).
• Record and report key metrics to management.
• Travel to data center sites for engineering evaluations and surveys as required (average once or twice a year).
• Offer creative, out‑of‑the‑box solutions and collaborate across disciplines to refine designs.

As an Architectural BIM Designer, you will partner with a multidisciplinary BIM design team to create innovative solutions for Amazon-owned data center facilities. You will produce and maintain Architectural drawing sets for our fleet of data centers, influencing design documents for exterior envelope, interior architecture, furniture, finishes, equipment, site and civil planning, space planning, life safety, structural systems, and building code compliance.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with building codes and regulations for your region.
• 5+ years of Architectural design experience on mission‑critical facilities.
• 4+ years of experience using Revit for producing Architectural BIM models and construction drawings.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience directly related to the design or construction of data centers.
• Familiarity with the BIMForum LOD Specification and the application of Lean principles to design modeling and drawing production.
• Experience designing within the full life‑cycle of a building, from concept to permit, construction, and occupancy.
• Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Dynamo, RF Tools, CTC Tools, Smartsheet, and Procore.
• Experience in multi‑discipline collaboration on Autodesk BIM 360, Construction Cloud, and/or Forma.

Salary

USA, TX, Austin: 116,800.00 – 160,000.00 USD annually

USA, VA, Herndon: 116,800.00 – 160,000.00 USD annually

USA, WA, Seattle: 116,800.00 – 160,000.00 USD annually
