Job summary

The Axel Group, LLC in Cincinnati, Ohio is seeking a BIM Designer to join our client's team on a hybrid schedule. You will develop and coordinate shop drawings and BIM models using Revit, perform clash detection, and ensure model accuracy in collaboration with project management.

The ideal candidate has experience with Revit and Navisworks, can read construction drawings, and supports 3D modeling, quantity extraction, and 4D scheduling. Strong communication and organizational skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience with Revit.
• Extensive knowledge of Navisworks and Revit software.
• Experience with 3D model quantity extraction and 4D scheduling using Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate shop drawings and BIM models using Revit.
• Perform clash detection and coordinate with project teams to ensure model accuracy.
• Create, modify, and update Revit families and models.
• Attend project coordination meetings as needed.
• Establish and oversee standards of work and best practices in BIM processes.
• Manage and update all drafting programs and tools.
• Review work for quality and accuracy.
• Coordinate with third-party engineers for fully engineered submittals.
• Engage with team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

This position is hybrid and involves collaborating with the project management team to develop and deliver fully coordinated shop drawing packages. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in BIM modeling, clash detection, design, and drafting within the construction industry.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and coordinate shop drawings and BIM models using Revit
• Perform clash detection and coordinate with project teams to ensure model accuracy
• Create, modify, and update Revit families and models
• Attend project coordination meetings as needed

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with Revit
• Extensive knowledge of Navisworks and Revit software

• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, details, and specifications
• Knowledge of Unistrut products is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Revit
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a high‑paced, sometimes stressful environment
• Capable of modifying and adapting files created by others

Education & Experience:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related discipline
