Job summary

Reframe Systems seeks a Design Automation Engineer to build scalable BIM tools and automation workflows starting with Revit. You will convert manual design tasks into stable software that feeds into CAD-to-fab systems, enabling teams to win projects faster.

You’ll operate between design practitioners and software engineers, prototyping with coding agents and AI tools to ship usable solutions day-to-day rather than demos that remain on the shelf.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of design/CAD/BIM automation experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication to align technical vision.
• Proficient in Python and/or TypeScript with automated testing and releases.
• Experience with Revit in professional settings and built integrations (plugins, Dynamo, pyRevit, APS).
• Built API integrations with external systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production tools for the design team that integrate with downstream automation systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve efficiency and throughput.
• Create exchange layers between internal models and external MEP consultants to avoid bottlenecks.
• Develop BIM-to-estimate workflows (auto-takeoff) for design.
• Build tools enabling rapid value-engineering iterations for architects.
• Partner with software engineers to deliver reliable tools.
