Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a capable BIM Automation Engineer to design and maintain production tools for architectural design teams. The role focuses on automating design workflows, integrating Revit with external systems, and building AI-assisted takeoffs from BIM.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement software automation that boosts efficiency across architecture, engineering, and business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering is required.
• 3+ years in design/CAD/BIM automation, ideally residential construction.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build consensus around a technical vision.
• Strong coding experience, ideally in Python and/or TypeScript.
• Experience with automated testing and releases/deployments.
• Experience using Revit in a professional setting and building integrations (plugins, Dynamo, pyRevit, APS).
• Built API integrations with other systems.
• Foundational knowledge of parametric design.
• Experience using coding agents to prototype and rapid solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain production tools for the design team to save time and work with design automation systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to design and implement software automation improving efficiency.
• Build the exchange layer between internal models and external MEP consultants to avoid bottlenecks.
• Build auto-takeoff from BIM to produce high-confidence estimates.
• Create tooling to help architects iterate quickly through value-engineering options.
• Collaborate with software engineers to build and support reliable tools.
