Job summary

PremiStar in Texas is seeking a BIM draftsman with strong CAD skills to transform design concepts into constructible shop drawings and material reports. You'll collaborate with architects, customers, and vendors to support procurement and field installation.

The role requires 2 years in construction trades, an A.A.S. in Drafting and Design or higher, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Navisworks, and familiarity with Revit. Occasional site visits and coordination with the project team are expected.

Job description

This position requires strong CAD skills as well as the ability to communicate with all personnel on the design team, including architects, customers, and vendors. The BIM draftsman will be responsible for creating shop drawings, spool sheets and itemized reports for material purchasing.

Job Requirements

Educational Requirements:

A.A.S. in Drafting and Design or greater is preferred.

Experience Requirements:

2 years in a construction trade

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Revit (optional)
• Good written and oral communications skills, including the ability to work equally well with potential and existing customers, support team members, and the general public
• Understanding of, and experience in, implementation of industry standards and local codes
• Team oriented

Working Conditions:

The primary work environment is an air-conditioned office setting. On occasion it is required to work non-air-conditioned spaces, roofs, ladders, vertical lifting equipment, and subject to all weather conditions.
