Job summary

Facade Today is seeking a BIM Coordinator to support commercial electrical construction projects in a self-perform contractor environment. You will coordinate BIM models, support clash detection, and ensure installation drawings are delivered to field and project teams.

The role improves field productivity, reduces rework, and supports efficient project delivery across healthcare, institutional, and large-scale commercial projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of BIM coordination in commercial electrical projects.
• Proficient in Revit and Navisworks for model coordination.
• Experience with clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate electrical BIM models through project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with PMs, field leaders, engineers, and trades to resolve issues.
• Participate in clash detection to resolve conflicts pre-installation.
• Produce shop and installation drawings from BIM models.
• Update models with design revisions and field changes.
• Support prefabrication, layout, and field installation with model coordination.
• Review drawings/specs to ensure model accuracy and compliance.
• Assist teams with BIM deliverables, schedules, and milestones.
• Maintain BIM standards and project documentation.
• Provide timely model updates and technical coordination support

Job description

We are looking for a BIM Coordinator to support commercial electrical construction projects within a self-perform electrical contractor environment. This role is responsible for coordinating BIM models, supporting clash detection efforts, and ensuring accurate installation drawings are delivered to field and project teams. The position plays a critical role in project execution across healthcare, institutional, and large-scale commercial projects. Success in this role helps improve field productivity, reduce rework, and support efficient project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and coordinate electrical BIM models throughout the project lifecycle
• Collaborate with project managers, field leadership, engineers, and other trades to resolve design and constructability issues
• Participate in clash detection and coordination meetings to identify and resolve conflicts before installation
• Produce shop drawings, installation drawings, and model-based construction documentation
• Update models based on design revisions, field changes, and project requirements
• Support prefabrication, layout, and field installation activities through accurate model coordination
• Review contract drawings and specifications to ensure model accuracy and compliance
• Assist project teams with BIM-related deliverables, schedules, and coordination milestones
• Maintain BIM standards, file management practices, and project documentation requirements
• Support field teams by providing timely model updates and technical coordination assistance

Requirements

• 2+ years of BIM coordination experience within commercial electrical construction
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit and Navisworks required
• Experience participating in clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination meetings
• Ability to read and interpret electrical construction drawings, specifications, and design documents
• Familiarity with healthcare, institutional, commercial, or industrial construction projects preferred
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation methods, and construction workflows
• Experience supporting self-perform electrical contractors is strongly preferred
• Candidates with architectural-only or residential BIM experience will not be a strong fit for this position
