Symetri is looking for a BIM Consultant with a civil background to join our team working for a large technology owner’s data center construction and delivery team for all North and South American projects. We’re looking for an individual seeking career advancement, growth opportunities, and a willingness to take charge of an Owners Civil Program as it relates to digital delivery.

Responsibilities:

Your primary responsibilities as a contractor for the technology owner will be as follows:

  • Review Owners' Civil CAD, BIM, & GIS requirements and make recommendations for process improvement
  • Review Owner’s CAD & BIM templates regarding Civil and provide efficiency recommendations
  • Provide Autodesk Construction Cloud assistance, support, and configuration for Civil workflows
  • Contribute to BIM Execution Plan (BEP) development using Owner’s templates, make recommendations for BEP improvement at the strategic level
  • Provide digital delivery best practices guidance on civil and building workflows
  • On-board new Civil vendors in Owner’s Civil requirements, standards, and procedures
  • Provide as-needed workflow training, documentation, and support
  • Participate in kick-off meetings at the start of each design or construction project as a Civil SME
  • Attend and participate in coordination meetings organized by the Digital Delivery Managers as needed based on the project schedule as documented in BEPs
  • Liaise with other regions to comprehensively understand where the regions align and differ.
  • Provide quality assurance and control (QAQC) Audits of CAD, BIM, and GIS deliverables from external vendors including design, construction, and commissioning vendors
  • Review Capability and Capacity assessments of Civil design and construction teams
Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or related industry
  • Professional registration (P.E., etc.) and industry accreditations (ENV SP) a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in Civil Engineering within the following areas:
  • Direct experience with the process, workflow, and use of Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D (C3D), and related technologies from conceptual design thru construction of complex engineering projects
  • Direct experience utilizing Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) for storage and collaboration of civil related design and construction data
  • Direct experience with the implementation, use, and interoperability of GIS, particularly esri ArcGIS Pro
  • Knowledge of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) and other modern contractual delivery methods
  • Proven successful implementations of BIM platform technologies within a Civil engineering firm or government entity
  • Experience working on data center projects a plus

  • Preparation of reports and standard operating procedures

Salary Range: $100K - $110K per year. The specific salary offered will depend on various factors, including experience, education, skill set, and seniority level. We are committed to offering a competitive salary and may be flexible, with the potential to offer a higher salary based on your background and the value you bring to the role.
