Job summary

Salas O’Brien seeks a CAD/BIM Technician to produce accurate drawings and models for federal facility programs, coordinating across architectural, structural, mechanical, and other disciplines. The position emphasizes translation of design intent into BIM content within established standards and ongoing collaboration with discipline engineers and the BIM Manager.

Baltimore MD or Washington DC location with 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certification in CAD/BIM or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience producing CAD/BIM drawings and models in a multidisciplinary design environment.
• Familiarity with federal, institutional, or industrial facility design projects.
• Experience incorporating redlines, managing revisions, and preparing final deliverable packages under deadline pressure.
• MUST BE A US CITIZEN.

Responsibilities

• Produce conceptual sketches, layout exhibits, drawings, and renderings across disciplines.
• Develop and maintain building information models per BIM execution plan and standards.
• Support field survey documentation and reference layout capture for facility assessments.
• Produce utility/interface sketches and HVAC/ventilation diagrams as directed.
• Incorporate redlines and changes after design reviews and resolutions.
