Community Health Centers of the Rutland Region in Rutland, VT seeks a Billing Supervisor to oversee the revenue cycle, including charge entry, claims submission and payment posting.

Under the Billing & Coding Manager, you will ensure accurate coding, resolve denials, and train staff while maintaining patient-focused service.

Qualifications

• Expertise in processing insurance carrier payments and denials.
• Accurate data entry of charges into the practice management system.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for charge capture.
• Ability to resolve patient and customer complaints promptly.
• Ability to assign CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 codes per guidelines.
• Keep up-to-date with billing system and coding changes.
• Assist patients with setting up payment plans.
• Provide training and oversight of billing staff.
• Review batches and give feedback to staff.
• Ensure correct coding, timely entry, and compliance.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Under the direction of the Billing & Coding Manager, the Billing Supervisor is responsible for the quality control of the entire revenue cycle including but not limited to; charge entry, claims submission and tracking, collecting, and payment posting.

FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
• Takes and records patients vital signs, immunization status, and brief history.
• Cleans and autoclaves procedural equipment and instruments.
• Observes records and reports to physician patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatments, according to the nursing process.
• Oversees appointment scheduling, assures priority is given to patients in emergency situations.

SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:

Expertise in processing insurance carrier payments/denials.

Strong knowledge and accuracy in processing charges into practice management system.

Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to identify areas of charge capture delay and/ or denials.

Resolve patient/customer complaints in a timely manner.

Ability to assign CPT/HCPCS/ICD 10 diagnosis codes according to CPT and insurance carrier guidelines.

Maintains current knowledge of billing system and coding changes

Ability to contact and work with patients setting up payment plans for CHCRR services

Provide training and oversight of the billing and collections employees.

Review charge entry batches and provides feedback to appropriate staff.

Ensure correct coding, timely charge entry, billing compliance, and with the Billing & Coding Manager, provide on-going education to billing staff.

Reporting to the Billing & Coding Manager, the Billing Supervisor has input into the selection of staff, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Participates in improvement projects, initiatives and related training in areas of responsibility.
