Job summary

MEMPHIS LIGHT GAS & WATER (MLGW) seeks a Manager Billing Services to oversee the customer billing process from meter to cash, ensuring accuracy and timely invoicing. The role leads a billing team and drives initiatives to improve processes and customer satisfaction.

The position requires strategic thinking, strong communication and analytical skills, and experience in the utility sector. Collaboration with Finance, Customer Service, and IT is essential to success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related field (required).
• Six years of progressive experience in the utility industry or related.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Data analytics experience preferred.
• Must complete NIMS training within one year of starting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of customer billing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Develop and implement billing strategies to optimize revenue collection and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor billing systems and procedures, recommending improvements as needed.
• Lead billing staff and provide guidance, training, and performance feedback.
• Collaborate with Finance, Customer Service, and IT to ensure seamless billing operations.
• Generate reports on billing activity, trends, and KPI’s.
