Job summary

Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County is seeking an Administrative Billing Specialist to support the clinical team and ensure accurate Medi-Cal billing data through the County My Avatar System. This role requires meticulous data entry, eligibility verification, and collaboration with finance and program staff.

You will review Power BI reports, maintain filing and reporting systems, and assist with confidential medical and financial records.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years medical billing experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medical and managed care insurance.
• Knowledge of HDX and ICD-9 & CPT-4 coding.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and email communications.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Able to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Enter data into the County My Avatar System to bill Medi-Cal claims.
• Confirm Medi-Cal eligibility before monthly submission of claims.
• Review Power BI reports.
• Back up Program Coordinator / Program Admin; corrects state and County denials.
• Maintain filing and reporting systems; implement changes as needed.
