Job summary

A Hiring Company is recruiting a full-time Billing Specialist for an in-person role in Peoria, IL. You will ensure accurate billing and timely reimbursement for healthcare services, with daily interaction with patients and insurers.

The ideal candidate will ensure accurate billing and timely reimbursement for healthcare services provided by our practice. This is an in-person position | Monday–Friday

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting accurate claims to insurance companies, government payers and patients
• Reviewing patient accounts and verifying insurance coverages
• Resolving claim denials, rejections and payment discrepancies
• Posting payments and adjustments to patient accounts
• Maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations including HIPAA
• Communication with patients regarding billing inquiries and providing excellent customer service
• Collaboration with other team members to ensure efficient workflow

Requirements

This is an in-person position | Monday–Friday A key job requirement is prior experience in medical billing. This role requires accuracy and compliance, proficiency in billing software, databases or other financial tolls and a strong willingness to learn. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and experience with EPIC or another electronic EMR system also preferred.
